Veterans and service members took part in a Military Papermaking Workshop at the Sitrin Healthcare Center today

During the workshop, participants transforned unserviceable combat uniforms into art.

The workshop was given by members of the Peace Paper Project, which uses traditional hand paper making as a tool for therapy.

Co-Director Drew Matot says the uniforms are shredded and pulped and are then used to form sheets of paper that's used to create art.

The workshop was made possible by funds raised though the Boilermaker Charity Bib Program.

More than $18,000 was raised for Sitrin's Military Rehabilitation and Adaptive Sports Programs.
