Standoff In Waterville Ends Without Incident

A man was taken into custody following an hour long standoff with police in the Village of Waterville.

Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call on Monday night to check the welfare of a 58-year old man who was threatening to harm himself.

The man was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation.

The incident is still under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies at the scene were assisted by members of the New York State Police, COCVAC Ambulance and Waterville FD.
