STAR Registration Hits 2 Million Mark

Two million homeowners statewide have now registered for the STAR property tax exemption.

That's according to numbers released today by the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.

80% of homeowners in Oneida County and 78% in Herkimer County have registered for the program.

STAR saves homeowners an average of $700 a year on their property taxes.

The deadline to register is December 31st.
