State Labor Department Releases August Unemployment Rates
The New York State Labor Department is releasing preliminary unemployment rates for August and it's good news for the Utica-Rome area.
The jobless rate was 7.3% last month, down from 8.2% in August of 2012.
The state's unemployment rate in August was 7.6%.
Meanwhile, the state's private sector job count increased by 126,800 from August of 2012 to August of this year.
