The New York State Police are looking at Herkimer County for their 'Cold Case Tuesday.'

In 1964 69-year-old Lucy Dade Forrester was murdered in the village of Frankfort.

Forrester's body was discovered on February 20th in her small store called 'Dade's Variety.' She was last seen alive the day before.

It was commonly known that Forrester would come down from the upstairs apartment where she lived to open the door to people at odd hours when they knocked.

It was rumored at the time that Forrester kept a large sum of cash somewhere in the store or apartment. When her body was found she had apparently been beaten and strangled. The store and living area were ransacked.

It appears robbery was the motive for the homicide. If you have any additional information on this Cold Case, please contact Senior Investigator Reece S. Treen of Troop D at 315-366-6003. All calls may be kept confidential.
