SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — State police say a trooper escaped with minor injuries after he was pinned between two vehicles during a traffic stop.

Police say troopers stopped a pickup truck being driven by 31-year-old Shaun Clark, of Auburn, in a Syracuse store parking lot around 7 p.m. Tuesday. Troopers say when Clark was unable to produce a driver's license or identification, he was ordered to exit the vehicle.

As Clark was being searched he jumped back into the truck and sped forward, dragging Trooper Andrew Skerpon and hitting the building. Police say he then backed up and hit a trooper vehicle, pinning Skerpon between the vehicles.

Clark sped away but was caught soon afterward. Charges against him include reckless endangerment and resisting arrest.

Skerpon was treated at a hospital and released.
