Call it the First Four, call it the play-in round. Call it what you want, but the Syracuse Orange topped Arizona State 60-56 in Dayton on Wednesday night to cap what has become the opening round of NCAA Tournament.

The Orange, an 11th-seed, will now prepare to face 6th-seed TCU on Friday night - a scheduled 9:45 p.m. start.

Oshae Brissett paced the Orange with 23 points, backed by 15 from Tyus Battle.

The Syracuse defense held Arizona State to 28 points in each half after the Sun Devils had scored 90-or-more points in it's last six contests.
