Teens Injured in Crash on Commercial Drive in New Hartford

Two teens were injured in a crash on Commercial Drive on Black Friday.

The crash occurred at about 1:40pm on November 29, 2013.

According to a written release from New Hartford Police an accident in front of her prompted 19-year old Hallie Serianni of Frankfort to stop her car.  She was allegedly hit from behind by 18-year old Shawn Laquay of Marcy, who was not able to stop in time to avoid the collision.

Laquay's passenger, 17-year old Shawna Meeker of Rome, was hurt when the airbags deployed.  She was hospitalized for her injuries.  Serianni had pain in the head and neck area but declined medical treatment.  Police say Laquay was not hurt.  Emergency responders from the New Hartford Fire Department and Edwards Ambulance assisted police.

No tickets were issued at the scene.
