Starlin Castro and Mark Teixeira each homered for the second straight day to spark a rally that lifted the Yankees over the Astros 8-5 on Thursday, and gave New York a win in their season opening series with Houston.

After his four-RBI night on Wednesday, Tex drove in three more on Thursday with a tie-breaking 3-run blast in the seventh-inning that put New York ahead 8-5. And, Castro - coming off a four hit, five-RBI night - added two more hits including a solo-HR.

Chasen Shreve earned the win in relief. Yankees starter Nathan Eovaldi surrendered five earned in five-innings, while striking out seven. Brian McCann went deep, as well. Andrew Miller picked up his first save.

The Yanks (2-1) hit the road to open up a weekend series in Detriot on Friday night.
