The Grand Healthcare System, one of New York's leading healthcare companies, has purchased Heritage Health Care Center on Sunset Ave in Utica.

A ribbon cutting was held on Tuesday at the 220-bed extended-stay nursing facility, which has been renamed The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Utica.

The Grand Healthcare System has already begun significant upgrades to The Grand at Utica.  The company recently finished remodeling the tower building's seventh floor so that it features more than two dozen private rooms with sweeping city views.

Officials say the entire building will now be renovated top-to-bottom.

“Since 2017, while serving as consultants to Heritage, we focused our energies on managing the building and bringing all levels of care up to par,” said Jeremy Strauss, CEO of The Grand Healthcare System, which also owns The Grand at Rome and The Grand at Chittenango. “Now that the facility is officially under our ownership, we look forward to launching this property according to the expectations of our brand.”
