Three City of Utica park employees who rescued an injured woman from a burning vehicle have been recognized.

On February 12th, Philip Colon, Ron Ellis and Michael Durso jumped to action and pulled the woman from her burning vehicle.

Mayor Robert Palmieri presented each employee with a certificate of recognition for their heroic efforts.

"I want to commend and thank Philip, Michael and Ron for putting their own wellbeing at risk to help a neighbor in need," Mayor Palmieri said.

Parks Commissioner Dave Short and Utica Fire Chief Russell Brooks were also on hand for the recognition ceremony.
