SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say multiple people have been injured in a highway crash near Syracuse involving a tour bus, a tractor-trailer and a car.

Local media report that the accident occurred at 2:45 a.m. Thursday in the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 in Nedrow, just south of Syracuse.

The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office says 40 people were on board an Adirondack Trailways bus involved in the crash. Officials say there are no fatalities. The bus driver suffered the most serious injuries.

Twenty-six people were transported to hospitals.

The sheriff's office says the tractor-trailer pulled over to help a stopped car on the highway when the bus struck both vehicles.

I-81's southbound lanes were closed until shortly before 5:30 a.m.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
