Westmoreland, NY (WIBX) - The Tractor Trailer accident on the Thruway near Westmoreland Exit 32 has been cleared. Traffic is now moving in all directions.

State Police were recommending drivers get off at the Eastbound Westmoreland Exit to avoid the extensive delays that followed.

Yesterday, officials reported that the Tractor Trailer spilled its cargo and there was no confirmation of what the cargo was however, they said they did not believe it was toxic. Traffic was down to just one Eastbound lane and was being diverted off the freeway on the Westbound side of Utica Exit 31.

Motorists were directed to get back on the freeway at Westmoreland to head Westbound. However, there was no Westbound traffic between Exit 31 and 32. Officials called it a personal injury accident and said there was no confirmation on the extent of the drivers injuries or if others were injured.

As of this update, State Police have not released an official report on the accident.
