Trebilcock Charged With Second Degree Murder

Sherrill, NY (WIBX) - David Trebilcock has been charged with second degree murder for the death of a six year old Sherrill girl.

He was released from the hospital today after being treated for wounds police say were mostly self inflicted.

Trebilcock is accused of stabbing Lauren Belius to death in her Primo Avenue home last Tuesday.

Investigators say he stabbed himself in the chest and cut his wrists. Trebilcock was also stabbed in the back which police say was likely caused when the child's mother tried to stop the attack.

Trebilcock was slated to be arraigned this afternoon.
