Utica, NY (WIBX) - Two men are standing trial this week on charges of murder and robbery in a home invasion last year on Waverly Place in Utica.

Vincent Enos and Eric Blackshear Junior are accused of breaking into the home with the intent of robbing 19-year-old Shaun Vaughn, a Herkimer County Community College Study who was home for winter break.

Vaughn was shot to death in the attic of the two family home on January 22nd, 2010.

His girlfriend, Costa Stelios, took the stand today and tearfully described how she was awakened on that morning by two armed men and believed she heard a third intruder in the apartment.

Stelios testified she did not see their faces, but indicated one of the men had a 'New York City accent'. She also said the intruders referred to Vaughn by his nickname 'capo', and the men kept asking Vaughn where the money was.

Vaughn's stepfather, Olatunji Ali, said on the stand that Vaughn has recently received a $4,000 payment on a tuition assistance loan, and said Vaughn had just sold his own vehicle for between $4,000-$5,000, and was known to keep valuables, including money, in the attic.

A thrid suspect, Randolph Brown, pleaded guilty earlier this month to burglary and robbery in the incident. Brown is expected to testify during the trial, according to reports.
