The U-S Department of labor today awarded a $4.7 million National Emergency Grant to assist affected counties in New York State clean up after June's flooding. On July 12th FEMA declared 16 New York Counties eligible for assistance.

Herkimer, Oneida, Madison and Montgomery Counties are included and will split the Department of Labor funds with other affected counties around the State.

National Emergency Grants are part of the secretary of labor's discretionary fund and are awarded based on a state's ability to meet specific guidelines.
