Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi has secured a $250,000 grant for the City of Utica to replace the Utica Fire Department's Tactical Unit 2 with a new, updated vehicle.

The emergency response vehicle is over 13 years old and has more than 100,000 miles on it.

The Tactical Unit handles over 3,000 calls a year.

Brindisi says being able to upgrade the UFD's rescue unit with the latest equipment will help ensure that the fire department can quickly and adequately respond to any emergency situation.
