Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica police are reporting the arrest of a suspect following a robbery at Hannford's. According to officials, 51-year-old Kevin Byng stood in line at the stores' check-out lane--asked the clerk for a piece of paper and later handed the paper to the clerk demanding money. The clerk told police that she thought the hold-up was a joke until the suspect made it clear that it wasn't.

Byng left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash but was later apprehended when police spotted a vehicle matching the suspects' getaway car. The driver of the vehicle led police to the suspect who was subsequently taken into custody on Clinton Place in Utica. Byng is charged with 3rd degree Robbery.
