Utica, NY (WIBX) - A Utica woman is facing animal abuse and drug charges after police executed a search warrant at 1637 Kemble Street. Utica police officials say they charged 25-year-old Jessica Pulluaim with the following:

  • Two (2) counts of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals
  • Owning/harboring an unlicensed dog
  • Two (2) counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree (cocaine), and
  • Unlawful possession of marijuana

Officials say they found two pitt bulls at the residence that showed signs of severe mistreatment. The pitt bull puppy had an infected eye from what is believed to be a puncture wound. The adult female dog also showed signs of infections from clipped ears and other many other ailments.

Pulluaim agreed to relinquish ownership of the two animals, and they were taken to the Stevens Swan Humane Society, where they are undergoing veterinary care.
