Albany, NY (WIBX) - The first week figures are in from this year's Buckle-Up New York Enforcement Campaign. According to the New York State Police, more than 1,200 motorists within our area were ticketed last week for NOT buckling up; nearly 125 drivers were cited for improper child restraints and nearly 80 drivers were arrested for DWI.

Last year, the two-week long effort ended with 22,000 safety violation tickets being issued statewide.
