Utica, NY (WIBX) - If you have trouble remembering to put on your seat belt, the Utica Police Department is willing to remind you... for a price.

From May 21st until June 4th, the UPD will be working with the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee and the Department of Motor Vehicles to promote the "Buckle Up New York, Click It or Ticket" program.

Officers plan to use saturation patrols and enforcement waves to catch anyone not wearing their seat belt, saying the campaign saves lives and promotes safety.

According to the 2011 National Occupant Protection Use Survey, 84 percent of drivers nationwide wore seat belts while driving.
