BATH, N.Y. (AP) — A 24-year-old man upstate New York man has been convicted of killing a toddler two years ago.

Dakota Miller, of Hornell, was found guilty of second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter Thursday in Steuben (stoo-BEHN') County Court.

Authorities say 17-month-old Ian Maniske-Huff died from a traumatic brain injury and a slashed liver suffered while Miller was watching the boy alone for the child's mother over Thanksgiving weekend in 2015.

Prosecutors said Miller bit the child so hard that it made the boy bleed.

Miller is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 5. He faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
