Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Common Council has voted to censure one of it's own, First Ward Councilman Frank Vescera. In a 5-3 vote, which revolves around the videotaping of pre-conference meetings, Vescera will be removed from any committee assignment now and in the future while he continues to violate the established rules regarding videotaping meetings.

"The public has a right to know this, to see this, the immaturity that this common council has" said Vescera, adding "It really is a disservice to the residents, the taxpayers of this city".

Council President Bill Moorehouse has raised issue with the Vescera's videotaping, calling it a distraction. Vescera contends that in the small pre-conference room, his camera is needed for transparency in government.
