Last night's Common Council meeting hit a high note Wednesday night, as the city's first Youth Common Council was unanimously passed.

The group, consisting of ten high school students was the brainchild of 17 year-old Delvin Moody and Councilman Jerome McKinsey.

Once the idea was formed, Moody put it upon himself to gather other civic minded students to participate in the endeavor.

Although the resolution to recognize the committee was passed, it will have to be amended during the Council's next meeting in order to further define its role.
