Utica Fire Department To Fill Vacancies
The Utica Fire Department will be getting eight new firefighters.
Mayor Robert Palmieri says the newest members of the department will join 17 others from departments throughout the state when the next class of recruits enters the Utica Fire Academy on Monday.
The eight recruits will fill existing vacancies in the UFD created by numerous retirements.
The names of the eight will be announced on Monday when they're sworn in at City Hall.
