A Utica man will spend seven years in federal prison for distributing, receiving and possessing child pornography.

56-year old Daniel Beal was sentenced today in U.S District Court in Syracuse.

The U.S Attorney's Office says a part of his guilty plea, Beal admitted that he distributed and received images of child pornography using a peer-to-peer file sharing program.

Authorities say a search of Beal's business, Dacobe Enterprises, in July of 2015 led to the discovery of hundreds of images and videos depicting child pornography, some featuring children as young as two years old.

Beal will also serve 15 years of supervised release after his prison term ends and will be required to register as a sex offender.
