Utica, NY (WIBX) - Officials are reporting the arrest of a suspect who allegedly attempted to flee from police trying to apprehend him. The incident that happened on the 900 block of Schuyler Street around 6:50 p.m. last night, led to Joseph Ryzcek facing several charges ranging from 7th Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest, and 2nd Degree Harassment.

Utica police say they were attempting to apprehend the suspect on a warrant, but he allegedly pushed the officer trying to arrest him and ran away. He was witnessed throwing away a pack of cigarettes that officials say contained a crack pipe and crack cocaine. Ryzcek will answer the warrant and additional charges at a later date in Utica City Court.
