Utica, Marcy Traffic Advisory for Today, October 26, 2015 [MAP]
A traffic advisory is in effect for Utica and Marcy today.
Beginning at 9:00am today, October 26, 2015, State Route 49 Westbound is expected to be closed for four miles from Leland Avenue to Cavanaugh Road. The closures will last until approximately 12:00noon.
Jim Piccola of the New York State Department of Transportation says affected traffic will be detoured onto a parallel route, River Road westbound.
The closures are being made to permit a veterans' memorial walk and sign dedication.
Veterans who are participating in the walk and ceremony will be taken by bus to a point that is about one mile from the ceremony venue. They will then walk to the ceremony where a sign honoring Vietnam veterans will be dedicated.
