The City of Utica has sold the last remaining Urban Renewal Agency property on Whitesboro Street near the Utica Auditorium.

Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri says the land sold for just under $500,000 and will be developed by Purcell Construction and Reidman Development.

They plan to build a $13 million housing project which will consist of 129 units.  The sale must be approved by the Common Council and the Urban Renewal Agency.

Four years ago, the City owned several acres of land in Bagg’s Square, as well as, the former Cosmopolitan Center, Dickie Frank Building and ConMed Building.

The former Cosmopolitan Center is now Tony's AUDelicious, while the former Dickie Frank Building is now A & P Master Images and the ConMed Building is being developed into lofts and retail space.
