Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica police arrested a woman after an investigation into the sale and distribution of narcotics. Officials say 24 year old Shawnta Thompson of Utica was taken to Oneida County Correctional Facility today after investigators uncovered a quantity of cocaine at her residence, after carrying out a search warrant at 1205 Whitesboro Street.

Thompson is charged with, Criminal Possession of a controlled substance 7th, a misdemeanor; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, a felony; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, a felony, and 3 counts of Criminal Use of drug paraphernalia. The investigation was a joint effort by Utica Police Metro unit and the Utica/New Hartford Emergency Response Team.
