Town of Verona, NY (WIBX) - State Police in Oneida are investigating a weekend car accident that landed six people in the hospital, one with critical head and internal injuries. It happened Saturday evening around 7:23 at the entrance of Turning Stone Resort & Casino in the Town of Verona.

Officials say while attempting to make a U-turn onto Route 365, 28-year-old Amanda L. Trepasso of Syracuse, failed to yield the right of way, forcing an impact with 22-year-old Gene C. Carey of Rome. All were sent to the hospital.

Carey was traveling with 3 passengers and Trepasso had one; 28-year-old Kristin R. Conway from Liverpool, who's listed in critical condition at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Charges are expected following the conclusion of the police investigation. Trepasso was operating a 2000 Honda Civic and Carey a 2002 Ford Expedition. Troopers were assisted at the accident scene by members of the Oneida County Sheriff's Department and Oneida Nation Police Department.
