Wells Unveils Regulatory Relief Plan For Farmers
Republican candidate for the 22nd Congressional District Steve Wells was at North Star Orchards in Westmoreland on Thursday.
He met with local farmers and unveiled a plan to roll back government regulations he says are hurting upstate New York farmers.
Wells says according to a report by the Heritage Foundation, the expansion of regulations under the Obama Administration has cost farmers over $108 billion a year.
Wells' proposal would also put a two-year moratorium on new regulations.
Wells will face Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney and George Phillips in a June 28th GOP Primary.
