MAYVILLE, N.Y. (AP) — A 53-year-old man has pleaded guilty to beating and stabbing his wife and stepson to death inside the family's western New York home two years ago.

Allen Witruke, of Jamestown, pleaded guilty Thursday in Chautauqua (shuh-TAW'-kwuh) County Court to two counts of first-degree manslaughter.

Witruke was taken into custody in Olean in neighboring Cattaraugus County on Dec. 8, 2015 after the bodies of 52-year-old Catherine Witruke and 34-year-old Eric Washburn were found inside the family's Jamestown home.

Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies executing an eviction notice discovered the bodies.

Witruke faces a potential sentence of 10 to 20 years in prison for each count when he's sentenced Aug. 22.

Prosecutors say there was no apparent motive for the killings.
