The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is looking for the public's help in identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident.

The incident occurred on State Route 5 near Skyline Drive in the Town of Westmoreland.

According to deputies, the victim reports she observed a white SUV style vehicle attempt to pass her in the eastbound lane on Route 5.

In the process of doing so, the suspect struck the driver's side door and caused the airbags to deploy.

The victim was not able to gain any pertinent information on the suspect's vehicle, only that it was a white SUV style vehicle. That vehicle is expected to have significant damage to the right passenger side of the vehicle.

If you were traveling on Route 5 between 2:45 and 3:00 p.m. Saturday and have information you're encouraged to call the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.
