Now that Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi is running for Congress, don't you think it's about time we learn to pronounce his name properly? Let's be honest, the name has certainly been around for a long time in the Utica area and Anthony has certainly been pretty active as a New York State Assemblyman. One would think that by now, we would know how to pronounce his name.  Unfortunately, we're not all on the same page when it comes to the pronunciation.

Some members of the media pronounce it like I do: Brinn-DISS-ee. Others say Brinn-DEE-See. It even gets more confusing as some pronounce the 'see" at the end with an 's' while other pronounce a 'z' instead of an 's.' So, which is it?

Don't get me wrong, he hasn't complained; in fact, he told us that he just lives with the way people say it and he never corrects them.  To make it even more confusing, family members from out of town don't pronounce it the same way his family pronounces it. None the less, I think we owe it to him and his family to pronounce his name the way he and his family prefer.

Listen to the audio below as Anthony finally sets the record straight.
