CICERO, N.Y. (AP) — Sheriff deputies say a 26-year-old woman has died after being hit by several cars as she walked back to her disabled pickup truck on a central New York road.

Sgt. Jon Seeber of the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office says Heather Lardeo of Auburn drove her Ford Ranger off the side of Route 298 in Cicero around 5 p.m. Thursday and got stuck in the ditch. She walked to a nearby business for help.

Seeber says Lardeo was hit by multiple cars as she walked back to her truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
