After a tough opening season series loss to the gaunt Baltimore Orioles, the news got worse on Monday as the New York Yankees placed slugger Giancarlo Stanton on the 10-day injured list.

Stanton is suffering from a strained left biceps, according to the team.

In his absence, the Yankees have called up Clint Frazier from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre. Frazier miss nearly all of 2018 with the lingering effects of a concussion, playing in just 15 games. He hit .265 with nine hits and an RBI in 34 at bats last year.

Stanton posted two hits in his eight official at bats in the opening series, but was walked by the O's a whopping seven times.
