LATHAM, N.Y. (AP) — Ten New York Army National Guard helicopters are flying 70 soldiers to California for training.

Guard officials say the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters are departing from New York on Saturday for a five-day journey to Fort Irwin in California. Five helicopters are leaving from Albany International Airport and five from Islip MacArthur International Airport on Long Island.

Fort Irwin is the home of the military's National Training Center.
