The Chuck E. Cheese slogan is 'Where Awesome Parents Go;' but, on Saturday night in New Hartford, the scene at the well known kids fun center/restaurant turned ugly.

Police say they were called in after an argument between two men escalated into an all-out fist fight and that's when Chuck E. Cheese Cast Members had to break away from their normal job of making sure every guest leaves happy (their motto) - to break up the brawl.

Arrested inside the playroom were Cory J. Meulengracht, 24 of Lennox Ave. in Utica and Duane L. Damphier, 46 of Whitesboro St. in New York Mills, police said.

According to officials, the punching didn't stop there.  During their investigation, police say Meulengracht resisted arrest and actually struck a New Hartford Police Officer in the face. Meulengracht then resisted attempts by Police to take him into custody, police said.  Meulengracht was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Harassment in the second degree, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree.  He was arraigned in New Hartford Town Court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail in Lieu of $1000.00 bail or bond.

Police say despite the punch, the officer was not injured.

The other man who was involved in the fight, Damphier was charged with Disorderly Conduct and was released to appear in Town Court at a later date, police said.

It's not known if the two men arrested knew each other or what caused the alleged fight.
