HENDERSON, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say they're searching for two teenagers who disappeared in rough waters after diving off a cliff on the eastern end of Lake Ontario.

State police say troopers responded around 3:30 p.m. Sunday to a report of two teens in distress about 90 feet (27 meters) off the shore at Robert G. Wehle (WAY'-lee) State Park in the Jefferson County town of Henderson.

Troopers say an 18-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy had jumped off a cliff and started to struggle in waves of 4 feet (1.2 meters) to 5 feet (1.5 meters). Police say the teens went under and weren't seen again.

Troopers, U.S. Coast Guard boats from Oswego and Sacketts Harbor and other law enforcement agencies and emergency crews searched through the night. Officials say the search is continuing Monday morning.
