BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (AP) — Four teenagers from the same Long Island high school have been found dead in the past month. And while police suspect all are related to gang violence, they are releasing few details.

The case in suburban Brentwood began with the discoveries of the beaten bodies of two girls, ages 15 and 16, on successive days. Days later, police found the skeletal remains of two boys, ages 15 and 19.

Some students are afraid to walk alone, and school administrators are warning students not to wear clothing that could risk offending street thugs.

A law enforcement official told The Associated Press that the Salvadoran gang MS-13 is suspected, although no arrests have been made. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to speak publicly.
