City of Utica employee Andrew Brindisi has been indicted by an Oneida County grand jury in connection with a hit-and-run accident that happened in March.

WKTV is reporting that Brindisi is charged with second-degree assault and leaving the scene of an accident.  According to the Utica Observer DIspatch Brindisi was arraigned Friday, July 25, 2014 in front of county Judge Michael L. Dwyer, who released Brindisi on his own recognizance.

The 45-year old Brindisi is accused of driving away from an accident on State Street

A Utica resident claims Brindisi hit him twice with his car before crashing into the gasline outside the Mid-York Library building.

Brindisi is a sales coordinator with the city’s Urban Renewal Agency and the older brother of Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi.
