One former legislator from Western New York is being replaced by another in this November's election.

Governor Andrew Cuomo is selecting former Buffalo Congresswoman Kathy Hochul to be his running mate after current Lieutenant Governor Bob Duffy announced that he would be stepping down.

Duffy had served as chief of police and mayor of Rochester, New York.  Hochul, a former county clerk, has been working at M&T Bank since she left Congress in 2013.

Duffy cited personal reasons for his decision not to run, stating that the constant travel required by the position has taken its toll on his back.

Cuomo and Hochul will be opposed by Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino and his running mate, Chemung County Sheriff Christopher Moss.
