Clinton, NY (WIBX) - If you're looking to avoid the massive crowds at larger retail shops this Black Friday--then you may want to consider taking part in the Clinton Chamber of Commerce's Annual Shoppers' Stroll happening this Friday and Saturday. "This community just comes to life the day after Thanksgiving, which is typically referred to as Black Friday, but not in our book. The Shopper's Stroll symbolizes a traditional Christmas kick-off," said Clinton Chamber of Commerce President, Karen Ostinett.

Ostinett says the two day event is filled with activities for all ages, including a tree lighting ceremony, Christmas carolling, wine tasting, a visit from Santa and much more. "We have some charming shops, our merchants offer complimentary entertainments and refereshments all day long. We have roasted chestnuts and a horse drawn cairrage rides ... it's a Currier & Ives day," Ostinett said. Also, organizers plan to have a Crazy Hat Parade this year, in addition to the 47th annual Holiday Parade.

The Clinton Shopper's Stroll kicks off this Friday at 10:00 a.m. and runs until 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, the festivities get off the ground at 9:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m., and organizers say all are welcome to attend. For more information, visit, www.villageofclinton.com.
