Arrest Made In Shooting Of Man Looking To Purchase Goods
PHOENIX, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say they've made an arrest in the wounding of a central New York man who was shot after answering a social media site's ad to purchase merchandise.
State police say 22-year-old Ismael Hernandez was shot late Sunday night as he met with two men on a street in the Oswego County village of Phoenix. Troopers say the men then fled in a car that was last seen driving south on Route 57.
Police announced Monday that they had arrested 20-year-old Tommy Washington of Syracuse and charged him with robbery. He's being held in the Oswego County Jail. It couldn't be determined if he has a lawyer.
Troopers say Hernandez is in stable condition at a Syracuse hospital.
The search for the second man is continuing.
