[AUDIO] American Heart Association Kicks Off 2015 ‘Go Red For Women Campaign’
The American Heart Association kicked off it's 2015 'Go Red for Women' campaign at the Hotel Utica Thursday night with the announcement that this year's 'Go Red for Women Luncheon' is set for May 6, at Danielle's.
The 'Go Red' campaign is a year-round effort to fight the number one killer of women - heart disease - by educating and connecting Mohawk Valley women with tools and knowledge to help them make lifesaving choices.
Townsquare Media's General Manager Karen Carey said WIBX's sister station Lite 98.7 will be a sponsor of the luncheon and she couldn't be more excited to be a part of the event.
This year's Corporate Chairs are Maria and Louis Brindisi, who have both been affected by heart disease.
Louis says he and his wife Maria have both lost loved ones to heart disease and hopefully getting involved will help others learn how to be heart healthy.
In addition to the 'Go Red for Women Luncheon,' the Heart Association is announcing that National Wear Red for Women Day is February 6.
