The top defensive player in this year's free agent pool is now a Buffalo Bill.

Defensive end Mario Williams becomes the highest paid defender in league history after inking a six-year, $100-million deal, half of which is guaranteed, with the Bills.

Williams, who was the overall first-pick of 2006 NFL draft, compiled 53 sacks in his six-years with Houston but has been placed on injured reserved each of the last two seasons. He missed the final three games in 201o with an inflamed hernia and tore a pectoral muscle in week-5 last year which cost him the remainder of the season.
