Authorities say 32-year-old Ashley Harder of Binghamton also was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. She was arrested around 8:20 p.m. Monday.

According to New York State Police, troopers responded to a 911 call reporting a car was going the wrong way on the highway in the town of Triangle.

As a trooper drove northbound on I-81, Harder's vehicle drove by him in the passing lane. The trooper turned around and activated his car's lights and sirens.

Officials say Harder did not pull over. Instead, she allegedly continued driving southbound in the northbound lanes.

While approaching Exit 7, trooper pulled into a U-turn, got out of his vehicle and deployed a tire deflating device into the path of Harder's vehicle. She was arrested shortly after her car came to a stop.

Police say Harder refused to submit to a breath test to determine her blood alcohol content. She was ordered to appear in Triangle town court on February 14.
