SEMPRONIUS, N.Y. (AP) — State police say the body of an 82-year-old ice fisherman has been recovered from the southern end of Skaneateles Lake, about 23 miles southwest of Syracuse.

Troopers say Alfred Coon of Homer fell through the ice in the town of Sempronius Monday afternoon. Someone called Cayuga County 911 and emergency crews were dispatched around 3:15 p.m. Coon was pulled from the water about an hour later.

Troopers say efforts to revive him weren't successful.

The temperature reached a record high of 61 degrees on Monday in Syracuse.
