A portion of Chadwicks is under a Boil Water Advisory after a contractor damaged a water main on Elm Street.

The affected area includes Elm Street, Brooks Lane, Church Street, Pear Street, Hamilton Street, Hamilton Place and School Street.

The Mohawk Valley Water Authority says the advisory will be in effect for about 48 hours until lab testing confirms that the advisory can be lifted.

During that time, customers are advised to boil their water for at least two minutes before using it for drinking or cooking.
